How does the BatePonto app synchronization work?

Synchronization ensures that all records made in the BatePonto app are correctly sent to the system, keeping the data updated and available on the employee's timesheet. To achieve this, there are three types of synchronization available: synchronize points , synchronize data , and synchronize from the beginning . Each option addresses a different need.


Step-by-step instructions for accessing the synchronization screen.


  1. Open the BatePonto app on your device.


  1. Log in with your username and password.


  1. Just below the "Clock in" button, locate the button that may have the text "Synchronized", "Synchronizing" or "Synchronization pending". Tap this button to open the "Pending Synchronizations" screen.



  1. On this screen, you will see the status of points, photos, audio, and additional information that has not yet been sent to the system.



How does synchronization work?


Synchronize points


This option sends the time clock records marked in the app, as well as photos, audio, and extra information related to the workday. Whenever you click "sync points," the app sends all pending information to the system, following this order: points, extra info, photos, and audio.


  • If there are any pending records, the corresponding number will be displayed on the synchronization screen.



  • Point synchronization happens automatically every 20 seconds when the app is open and online, but it can be done manually whenever necessary using this option.
  • Upon completion of the synchronization, all records should appear as "ok".



Synchronize data


The “synchronize data” button is used to update administrative and registration information between the Pontotel Web system and the application. This includes changes made to employee registrations, work schedule settings, data collector profiles, and other management data.


  • When using this option, only new data or data that has changed since the last synchronization will be updated.
  • This is recommended whenever there are significant changes to the system and you want to ensure the app reflects the most up-to-date information.


Sync from start


This is the most complete option: it performs a general update, clearing the entire local application database and downloading all system information again.


  • Use “sync from the beginning” when switching devices, reinstalling the app, or when you need to ensure that no old data remains stored.
  • This action takes a little longer because all the content will be reloaded.


⚠️ Warning:


  • For synchronization options to be enabled and functioning correctly, a stable internet connection and a connection to the Pontotel server are essential.
  • Also remember that initial synchronization will clear app data and may delete records that haven't yet been synchronized. Therefore, only perform this procedure when you are certain that all data points and files have already been sent to the system.


Keeping time and attendance synchronized prevents discrepancies in timesheets and ensures that everything is recorded correctly, for both employees and managers.
