How do Pontotel notifications work?

Pontotel's automatic notifications are essential for keeping managers and employees informed in real time about work events, delays, overtime, time clock reminders, and other important situations. The system allows you to customize these notifications according to the routine and needs of each company.

Difference between notifications for managers and employees.


Notifications for managers:


These notifications aim to alert leaders and managers about team occurrences, such as lateness, late arrivals and departures, missed breaks, and situations related to overtime. Managers can monitor anything that deviates from the expected pattern in real time, facilitating control and decision-making.


Examples of events reported to managers:

  • Early arrival, late arrival, or failure to comply with the inter-shift interval
  • Early departure, late departure with overtime, or start of overtime.
  • Pause started, early return, or delayed return.
  • Overtime limit reached.
  • Nearing the overtime limit


Notifications for employees:


These are reminders aimed at employees, with the intention of helping them manage their own work hours, preventing forgetfulness and facilitating their daily routine.


Examples of events notified to employees:

  • It's time to start or end your shift.
  • Overtime has begun.
  • It's time to return from the break.
  • Overtime limit reached.
  • Nearing the overtime limit


How to create a notification rule


  1. In the navigation menu, click on management and select notification rules .



  1. Click "create new rule" to add a new rule, or select an existing rule and click "edit".



  1. Name the rule: Define a name to identify the notification rule.


  1. Choose the notification type: In the “category” field, define whether the rule will be “incident notification for managers” or “alert notification for employees”. The system will display the event options according to your choice.



  1. Choose how to receive it: Check if you want to receive it via browser and/or push notification (through the apps).



  1. Define the recipients: In the fields of the "who will receive these notifications" section, select whether the notifications will be sent to users or permissions. Then, select the users or profiles (such as manager, supervisor, or employee) who will receive these notifications.



⚠️ Warning: Users with "HR" permissions cannot receive notifications.


  1. Define the hierarchy : If you have created a leadership/follower hierarchy in the employee and user records, you can refine the notifications using the options below. If none are selected, notifications will be based on the hierarchies defined by the workplaces.



  1. Select the events: Check all the events that should trigger notifications.

  1. Activate and save: Activate the rule and click "save".
