How to clock in and out on the BatePonto website (web)
website BatePonto is the most practical way to record working hours for those who work on computers, guaranteeing security and speed without the need to install applications.
The interface is designed to be agile: the employee arrives, identifies themselves, and clocks in in a few seconds, without needing to log in with their email and password every time (provided the browser keeps the cookies saved).
After the initial computer registration, the data collector is ready for daily use.

Other ways to clock in and out on the BatePonto website
In addition to the traditional registration (entering the PIN and choosing the type of time clock), the BatePonto website offers alternative methods that increase the security and transparency of time tracking. These options vary according to the configuration made by the company in the employee's registration and on the time clock.
1. Registration by User ID and Password (PIN) – Standard method
This is the most common method, explained above. You access the website, enter your numeric password (PIN) , and select the type of clocking in/out (Entry, Pause, Return, or Exit). The registration is completed immediately.
2. Photo Registration (Extra Layer of Security)
Your company may require you to submit a photo at the time of clocking in for later verification purposes. This image will be stored along with the clocking-in record and can be viewed on the timesheet.
How it works:
- Enter your PIN to be identified.
- After selecting the point type, the browser will request permission to access the camera. Grant permission to proceed.
- Position yourself in front of the webcam and wait for the image to be captured automatically.

- This function only attaches the image; it does not automatically validate your identity (unlike facial recognition). Therefore, it is necessary to enter your PIN at the beginning of registration.
- You need to grant camera permission on the device; otherwise, the error message below will be displayed. To learn how to grant this permission, please refer to the article:

3. Voice Recording (Audio Attachment)
Similar to registering with a photo, the system may request a brief voice recording after the type of registration is chosen.
How it works:
- The browser is asking for permission to use the microphone. You need to grant access
- You record a short audio message (usually saying your name).

- The audio is attached to the record and can be viewed on the timesheet.
4. Facial Recognition (Biometrics)
This is the most advanced security feature. Unlike simply attaching a photo, the system compares the captured image in real time with the approved profile photos in your account.
How it works:
- After selecting the point type, the camera is activated automatically.
- The system validates your identity. If the recognition is approved, the point is recorded normally.
- If validation fails, the record may be blocked or marked with an alert, depending on the company's settings.
Collector Settings (Individual × Collective)
The site's behavior also depends on how the collector was registered:
- Individual (Personal) Time Clock: The computer is linked only to your user account. When you access the website, you will go directly to the time clock screen.
- Collective/Impersonal Time Clock: The computer functions as a "shared time clock." Each employee needs to enter their PIN before clocking in.

Required browser permissions
For all modes to function correctly, it is essential to enable the following permissions:
- Camera (for photo and facial recognition)
- Microphone (for voice recording)
- Geolocation (the system identifies the location via IP address)
