How to activate time tracking by photo or voice.

To increase the security and transparency of time and attendance records made via mobile devices (smartphones or tablets), the Pontotel platform allows companies to require a photo or audio at the moment the employee clocks in or out.

When activated, these features prompt the employee to take a photo of themselves or record a short audio message immediately after selecting the type of time entry (clock in, break, etc.).


⚠️ Warning: This feature is different from Facial Recognition (Biometrics), which is an identity validation module. The function described here only attaches the photo or audio to the time record for future verification.


Activation is done individually, in the employee's registration. Here's how:


How to Enable Photo or Voice Registration


  1. In the main menu, go to Registrations and click on Employee .



  1. Use the filters to locate the desired collaborator and click the pencil (Edit) in the menu that will open.



  1. Within the registration process, go to the Time and Attendance and Benefits Settings .


  1. Look for the section on recording points and notes .


  1. Choose the option you want to activate:


  • To enable photo registration:
  • Apps BatePonto and Pontotel Gestão (mobile and tablet) : activate the option to record time with photo (web)
  • BatePonto Web (computer) : enable the option to record time with photo (web)


  • To activate voice registration:
  • BatePonto and Pontotel Gestão apps (mobile and tablet) : Check the option to record time with voice in the app.
  • BatePonto Web (computer) : enable the voice recording option in Pontotel web (computer).


💡 Tip: You can select all options if you wish, but we recommend choosing only one for each device type (photo or voice) to keep the registration process quick for the employee.


  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click save .

Device Permissions


For photo or voice recording to work correctly, it is essential that the employee grants permission to the application (or web browser) to access their device's camera and microphone. If this permission is denied or revoked, the platform will not be able to capture the security attachment.


The option "display persistent alert if employee attempts to clock in without microphone permission" addresses this scenario. When selected, if an employee attempts to clock in using voice input but microphone permission is blocked, the system will display a continuous warning. The main feature of this function is that, while active, the employee cannot disable this alert message, ensuring they are notified of the permission issue preventing complete registration.


Done! Starting with the employee's next login to the BatePonto website , BatePonto app , or Pontotel Gestão app , the system will require a photo or audio file to be attached to each time entry.
