How to add more than one point in the same location on the sheet.

In certain situations, it may be necessary to add more than one record of the same type (entry, break, return, or exit) on the same day for an employee. In addition to allowing the employee to register more than one point of the same type, the Pontotel platform allows this adjustment manually, ensuring that all necessary events are properly recorded on the timesheet.

Practical examples:

  • An employee finishes their first shift, leaves for an external appointment, and then returns to work on the same day, registering a new entry and exit time. In this case, it will be necessary to add more than one entry and exit point to the timesheet for the same day.
  • An employee who takes two breaks during their workday—one for lunch and another for an afternoon snack—will need to register more than one break and one return on the same day so that all periods away from work are correctly accounted for on their timesheet.

See how to perform this operation manually (in case the employee does not register any of the points).

Step-by-step guide to enabling multiple point recording.

To allow multiple entries of the same type (such as more than one clock-in or clock-out on the same day) to be recorded on the timesheet, this option must be enabled directly in the calculation rule linked to the employees.

Here's how to do it:

1. Access the calculation rules menu.

In Pontotel Gestão, go to the admin and select calculation rules .

2. Locate and edit the desired rule.

Find the calculation rule used by the employees for whom you want to allow multiple records in the list. Click on it and, in the menu that opens, click the edit .

3. Enable the multiple input/output option.

In the calculation rule, continue to the calculations . Scroll down and open the section for rest days, breaks between shifts, absences, and others . Within it, go to advanced settings and enable the option " Allow multiple entries and exits ".

💡 Tip:

If you want to enable multiple pause and resume registrations, the approach is different:

  • In the calculation rule, continue to the calculations . Scroll down and open the intra-day breaks (meal breaks) . Within it, go to advanced settings Allow multiple breaks option .

4. Save the changes.

Click "save rule" for the setting to take effect. This will allow all employees linked to this rule to have multiple records.

Step-by-step instructions for adding multiple points of the same type.

1. Access the timesheet

In the main menu, click on sheet and select timesheets .

2. Apply the filters to select the employee and the corresponding payslip.

Filter by employees.

In the "select employees" field, search for and select the employee, then click search .

In the upper left corner of the screen, select the desired skill

3. Add the point(s)

You will see a " + " icon just below the first point where you want to add a new record. Click on this icon and enter the new time. If prompted, select or type the justification for including the point. After confirming, the new point will be added to the workday and automatically considered in the calculation of time entries.

Observations

  • The system considers pairs of time entries (entry and exit, break and return) to correctly calculate the total hours worked in the day. If there are inconsistencies, such as entries without corresponding pairs, the day will be pending and the calculation of work hours will not be performed until the records are corrected.
  • It is possible to add more than two points of each type (entries, exits, breaks, and returns) on the same day, according to the employee's routine and needs. All pairs must be correctly recorded and in chronological order to ensure accurate calculation of hours.

Allowing multiple entries of the same type on the payroll sheet offers more flexibility in handling split shifts, unforeseen events, or specific employee needs. By following the guidelines above, you ensure that all events are correctly accounted for and avoid discrepancies in payroll closing.
