How to change the Work Location of a data collector (device)

Do you need one of your time clocks (time and attendance devices) to start recording hours for another team or department? Making this adjustment on the Pontotel platform is very simple!

By changing a collector's work location, you ensure that all new time entries made on that collector are associated with the correct team.

How to change a device's workstation


  1. In the main menu, go to Management and click on Collectors .


  1. On the Collector Management , check if you are in the "collectors" section. If not, click on it.


  1. In Select Category , choose the collector category, which is:
  • Device for web-based registration: Collectors created on the BatePonto website , ideal for registrations made on computers or laptops.
  • Registration application: Collectors created by the BatePonto App , used exclusively for time and attendance registration on mobile devices.
  • Management application: Collectors created in the Pontotel Management Application , which combines time tracking with administrative functionalities for managers.


  1. Select the device you want to make the change to list of devices


⚠️ Attention: the work location can only be changed for " collective" Individual" type collectors are automatically associated with the work location of the employee who registered them. See the second column of the list to determine the type of each collector.



  1. After selecting, a menu will open. Click the blue button with the pencil icon to edit the device.


  1. Work Locations field , select one or more work locations. Finish by clicking save.


💡 Tip: If you want to link all locations to the device, select the "associate collector to all work locations" option, which is located just above the work locations field.

Done! The time tracking device has been updated and is now linked to the new work location(s). From now on, all employees associated with this location will be able to clock in and out using this device.
