How to reinstate an employee who was mistakenly terminated (Rehire)

The Pontotel platform has a specific tool to reverse an employee's termination. This function, called "Readmitir" (Re- only be used in cases where the termination was registered in error and needs to be undone.


Which process should I use?


  • Use "Readmit" (this article): Only if the employee was marked as "terminated" on the platform by mistake and you need to reactivate their registration immediately.
  • Use "Create new employee": If the employee was properly terminated, served their notice period, and is returning to the company months later (rehiring). In these cases, you should create a new employee record to preserve the history of the previous contract.


How to Rehire an Employee (Undo Termination)


  1. In the main menu, go to Registrations and click on Employees .


  1. Show field (which by default shows "only active"), select the option "off" .



  1. Locate the terminated employee in the list.


  1. Select the employee and click the Readmit .



  1. In the new window, you will be asked for the readmission date . Enter the date on which the registration should be reactivated and click Readmit .



By following these steps, the system will reactivate the employee's registration, removing the termination date and allowing them to clock in and out again and have their work schedule managed normally.
