Why does dismissal generate inconsistencies in time records and the time bank?

When entering a leave of absence in the Pontotel system, it is essential to ensure that all options and settings are correctly adjusted. Any inconsistency in the entry can impact the employee's time bank balance, causing incorrect records.


What should you consider when issuing a dismissal notice?


If the expected work schedule includes a meal break , this information must be properly filled in the "expected duration of the break" field when recording the leave, in the case of a partial leave, in order to avoid inconsistencies in the calculation of time records and, consequently, in the time bank.


Let's look at a practical example:


Scenario:


  • On December 2nd, Maria had an expected work schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM;
  • Maria worked that day from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and took a lunch break from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM;
  • In this case, the break was due, considering that Maria's company establishes a right to a one-hour break after six hours of work;
  • At 3:00 PM, Maria left because she needed to go to the doctor, whose appointment was scheduled from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.



How to issue a dismissal on this day:


Since Maria took a one-hour break, and it was indeed due in this scenario, we need to inform her of this in the dismissal form, in the "expected break duration" field:

Please note that if a break occurs and is not specified in the "expected break duration" field, the time between the break and the return will be considered non-working time, and may result in late arrival or early departure, depending on the context.
